This exhibition includes paintings of the Dunedin Townbelt – Belleknowes area, the Otago Peninsula and the Earnscleugh-Clyde area of Central Otago.

These places give me plenty of opportunity and scope to indulge in one of my favourite pleasures that of experimenting with colour.

I also enjoy creating a balanced composition.  There are several complicated mathematical formulas for this.  However I particularly value the advice of a well-respected art teacher and book illustrator, “turn the picture sideways and upside down.  If it still looks balanced, it’s usually right”.
